One of the few duties rather than powers of a parish council is to provide allotments should there be a demand.

Maiden Newton has a very well subscribed allotment garden just to the north of the railway line near the station.

Allotments cost £8.00 per annum to rent. At present all the allotments are taken and there is a fairly small waiting list.

Allotments are available to the local government electors of Maiden Newton Parish.
