MNPC First Annual Chill-Out Weekend, New Forest 2018 5th-7th October 2018

First Annual Cill-Out Weekend, New Forest 2018

We are delighted to host the first annual people of colour retreat in the New Forest as part of the Mindfulness Network for People of Colour.

Hosted by:

Dr Meera Joshi
Garvey Harris
William Fley

Mindfulness in Nature:

The aim of this weekend is to rest, relax and enjoy good company, good food and the experience of practising meditation in the heart of the New Forest. We will enjoy the benefits of practicing mindfulness amongst the tall trees and whilst walking along the Jurassic coastline. The New Forest is home to some of the UK’s most beautiful countryside. We hope you can join us.

The benefits of connecting with the natural world in this way are also supported by research. Simply being in nature has been shown to bring about positive emotions, and activate our parasympathetic nervous system, which calms and restores us. Studies have also shown that spending time in nature aids in attention recovery, is emotionally restorative, and promotes general psychological well-being. Mindfulness only enhances our ability to connect with nature and thus reinforces these benefits.
